Name changed from Farmer's Mutual Lightning
Protected Insurance Company of Michigan,
Ltd., to State Mutual Rodded Insurance
Company, Ltd.
April 1924
The abbreviated Ltd., was deleted and the
word Fire, inserted which read, State Mutual
Rodded Fire Insurance Company of Michigan.
In short, the Company was popularly referred
to as "The Rodded Company" or "The Flint
Company."
April 9, 1934
Name changed to State Mutual Fire Insurance
Company of Michigan. This name remained for
the next eighteen years.
January 17, 1952
Six months after the General Charter was
granted, the word, Fire, was dropped and the
name, State Mutual Insurance Company of
Michigan, emphasized the fact that the
company had achieved the privilege to write
"General" policies.
December 31, 1967
State Mutual merges with Pioneer Mutual and
the present name, Pioneer State Mutual
Insurance Company, evolved. |
